privacy policy

Private by design.
Clear about the rest.

This Privacy Policy explains how DexRelay handles information across the website and mobile application. DexRelay is a commercial product, not open-source software. We do not sell personal information, and we design the product so your workflows stay on your Mac whenever possible.

1. What DexRelay Is

DexRelay is a companion product that lets you control coding and automation workflows on your Mac from your iPhone. The core product is built around private device-to-device access: your projects, files, shells, and build actions run on your Mac, not on DexRelay-operated servers.

2. Information We Collect

  • Website signup information, such as the email address you submit to receive updates, access, or TestFlight invitations.
  • Limited device, pairing, and connection metadata needed to pair your iPhone with your Mac, maintain sessions, and keep the product working securely.
  • Purchase and subscription metadata provided by Apple or RevenueCat if paid features or subscriptions are offered.
  • Product analytics and app events that show which features are used, which flows fail, and where we need to improve reliability.
  • Support or legal correspondence if you contact us directly.

We do not intentionally store the content you send through DexRelay, such as prompts, commands, attachments, or voice recordings, on DexRelay-controlled servers except for the temporary handling needed to provide the feature you requested in that moment.

3. How We Use Information

  • To operate DexRelay and connect your iPhone with your Mac.
  • To provide waitlist, onboarding, TestFlight, and product-access flows.
  • To maintain service reliability, security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
  • To understand feature usage and app events so we can fix issues and improve the product.
  • To process subscriptions, purchases, refunds, and entitlement checks if applicable.
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights, users, and infrastructure.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use DexRelay data for advertising profiles or cross-app tracking.

4. Third-Party Services

Depending on the feature, DexRelay may rely on third-party providers that process limited data under their own terms and privacy policies.

  • Apple, for App Store distribution, billing, subscriptions, and platform services.
  • Firebase / Google, for website hosting and website signup storage.
  • OpenAI, if you explicitly use AI or transcription features that require OpenAI processing.
  • RevenueCat, if subscription or entitlement management is enabled.
  • Tailscale or other networking infrastructure you choose to use to connect your devices.

DexRelay is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by OpenAI, ChatGPT, Codex, Tailscale, Apple, or any other third-party brand referenced above.

If you choose to connect over Tailscale, that connection is governed by Tailscale's own service. DexRelay does not receive your Tailscale account from Tailscale, and we do not collect Tailscale-specific account information from that provider.

5. Data Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate DexRelay, provide requested access, maintain records required for billing or legal compliance, and protect service integrity. Website signup records may be retained until they are no longer needed for access, outreach, or compliance purposes. Product analytics and event logs may be retained for debugging, product planning, and reliability analysis.

6. Security

DexRelay is designed to be highly private and secure. The core model keeps execution on your Mac, uses encrypted transport where available, and minimizes how much information needs to pass through any service at all.

In direct setups, your iPhone connects to your Mac over your local network or your private Tailscale network. In relay-assisted setups, DexRelay is designed so relay infrastructure routes encrypted session traffic between your paired devices without becoming a place where your project files or prompt payloads are stored.

No system is perfectly secure, and connection metadata such as timing, session identifiers, or traffic size may still exist as part of operating a networked service. But DexRelay is intentionally built to reduce unnecessary collection and keep the sensitive work as close to your own devices as possible.

7. Your Choices

  • You can choose not to submit website signup information.
  • You can stop using DexRelay at any time.
  • You can manage App Store subscriptions through Apple.
  • You can request deletion of website signup information or ask privacy questions at [email protected].

8. Children

DexRelay is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction.

9. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy as DexRelay evolves. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above.
